Second helicopter crash test

The second crash test of a small lightweight helicopter at NASA’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., was a smashing success, literally — just as engineers had predicted. The helicopter smacked hard into the concrete. Its skid gear collapsed, its windscreen cracked open and its occupants lurched forward violently, suffering potentially spine-crushing injuries according to internal data recorders. The crash test was all in the name of research to try to make helicopters safer. For full story: www.nasa.gov

What's it about?

As if you need to ask! It's all about stuff getting crashed and smashed!

We also feature stuff getting crashed and smashed.

So whether it's planes, trains or automobiles, boats, bikes or winnebagos, and anything in between, they're all here, doing what we love to see but hope they'll never do, at least to us.

It's a crashfest! So be careful out there, okay? Don't get crushed or mashed ;-)
